I've used both the Autoglym and Renovo cleaners and never been able to get rid of every bit of green and it always seems to come back.
I've used the rough sponge supplied with the Autoglym kit with both products. Spray it on, rub it well in then rinse thoroughly and dry off with a drying towel. Always looks great until it's totally dry but then there's always a hint of green left in the weave.
A month or so back I was browsing Poundland (other downmarket outlets are available) and I spotted a bottle of Milton's Fluid. I remember reading someone recommending it for hood cleaning so bought a bottle. Mixed it at around 10-1 and gave it a go. Again there was a little bit of green left afterwards but certainly no worse than with the 'proper' stuff. What did seem different was that the difficult to get at bits at the bottom front corners and along the seams didn't look bad at all.
Fast forward to today and there didn't seem to be any build up of greenery around the bottom edge. I've gone through the same process again today and now it looks the best ever. I'm thinking that the sterilising agent may be leaving something in the weave that is preventing further build up of algae.
Of the three products I've used it's by far the cheapest, readily available and I'm very happy with the results.

Nice one Roadie.....
On my previous Sport Recaro, I half dropped the hood and carefully jet washed the back edge of the mohair roof, came up a treat, I've also done this on my Mk1.
On a different, controversial note, I've read lots of posts on various MX5 Forums over the years asking the question "what can I seal my Mohair roof with" ?
I have never treated my Mohair hoods with any kind of sealants, personally I've never seen the benefits of doing it.
I had a long discussion with a well known (within the MX5 community) hood manufacturer and installer that a Mohair hood, which has 3 ply's should never be sealed as it needs to breathe.
I'm a strong believer that if the roof is not thoroughly cleaned and there is any dirt left within the weave, there's every chance that you'll seal in the dirt.

I bought the Autoglym full kit, cleaner and sealant years ago. Never been brave enough to use the sealant as I'd hate to find next day that there was a hint of green sealed in there.
I've never felt brave enough to use a pressure washer on a car particularly a soft top. Since I was converted to quality microfibre wash mits, cloths and drying towels I wouldn't use anything else.
If anyone has a cat that likes to curl up and sleep on your hood then I can also confirm that a rinse and dry with a microfibre drying towel removes hairs a treat.
