Some of this
And some of this for the ends
8mm hole drilled in the plastic end piece. Jam it on to a piece of 8mm bar. Stick it in a lathe or more likely leccy drill and round off the ends.

Just had another thought. Shiny metal bar with a slight kink and a black plastic end piece required. Google 'Guitar tremolo arm'.

We're on the same wavelength. I was browsing Ebay for stainless bar. I'll have a look for guitar bits and see if they'd fit. Thanks for the suggestions 👍

Most seem to be 5mm or 6mm diameter. Maybe a bit of shrink down sleeving on the end to bring it up to around 8mm and a self tapper in the drilled out pin hole to secure.

That's an excellent plan Paul. I'm liking the look of these tremolo arms very much. Also, the tips are available separately so could possibly be used on a length of plain bar at a push. Brilliant stuff. You're a genius 👍

I started looking at metal bar which was easy to find, suitable plastic end caps proved a lot harder to locate. Unless you wanted to custom order 1,000.
Then tried thinking if there was a suitable lever arm of some sort that could be adapted. I'd got a picture of the lever in my head and then the guitar appeared behind it. A bit like those close up pictures you used to get where you had to identify the item.

Hi gang, just a quick update on this little project. I have made some progress and will attempt to get a couple of photos up before long. However, it'll be a wee while before I can complete it because I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery for a few weeks. 😬 I think I have acquired everything I need to finish the job when I'm able to. More at that time. Cheers, Guy

Sorry to hear you've had to go through that painful surgery. Hope the recovery goes well. At least it's away from the top down open road season.

Hello folks. After a bit of a hiatus I've picked this project back up Here's how the stalks look today. Next job will be to add a plug to the headlight wiring before fitting the assembly in the car. I will need to make sure everything works before I instal it though. Cheers, Guy

Hi gang, it's good to read your positive feedback. Glad you like the plans. I'm about to embark on wiring these up but before I do I'd just like to confirm something if I may? Terminal #4 will have the light green wire from the loom plus a feed to the tell tale lamp attached? Can I use the same connector for these two wires by winding them together? Forgive me ignorance....
Thanks for your help.
Btw, I've connected the new stalks up to the car and existing functions appear to work normally.
Cheers, Guy
P.s, what colour wire would you use from the switch to the tell tale lamp please?
