Hi gang. I wonder if those with mechanical knowledge might help me please? I've bought a Smiths mechanical vacuum gauge to dress up TOG's centre console. It works by simply using a hose from a vacuum line. Could you (ideally with a picture) suggest where might be best to introduce the tee piece please? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Guy Edit. Am I correct in thinking the lines arrowed in red are vacuum? Also, what about the capped spur arrowed in blue? Could I take a vacuum feed directly from there?

I don't see that there would be any problem attaching a vacuum pipe to that pipe with the blanking plug on it.
Why not run a temporary pipe from it to the gauge and see how it performs ?
I think having a single direct connection from the manifold just behind the throttle body will probably be the best solution as you're not draining the supply (vacuum) from another component.

I've ran 3 different vacuum lines from my manifold for the supercharger. The one with the blanking plug should be the best as thats where you should get the best reading. That's the one I use to go straight to my ecu

Perfect. Thanks guys. I'll give it a go. Good idea to do a trial run first Ian. That makes complete sense. I think I've spotted a blanking plug that I can use to run the tube, right near where the throttle cable comes through the bulkhead. buggs, where did you run yours?

Mine right behind the throttle body goes to the ECU, the one at the bottom goes to the blow off valve and the one at the back goes off to the bypass valve on the back of the supercharger

Thanks buggs, that's an informative image. Do you know if each line draws the same vacuum or do the values differ?

Awesome! Thanks buggs π
Edit* All done. Eager to see if/how it works. (It was an Ebay purchase and giving my history of Ebay purchases, anything could happen).

That's OK, we've all done it. It's the OTHER THING that no one mentions (if they are wise).
